I don’t live in an apartment building but I have an intercom system, will Ring Intercom work for me?

Yes. Ring Intercom works with compatible intercom systems, enabling you to speak to visitors via Two-Way Talk, unlock your building entrance, share Ring Intercom functionality with members of your household and activate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, all from the Ring app. Click here to check if your intercom is compatible.

Does Ring Intercom record or store my conversations?

No. By default Ring Intercom does not record or store conversations.

If you are the owner of another Ring device on your property, such as a Video Doorbell or Security Camera, you can connect this device to your Ring Intercom via the Ring app, using the Linked Devices feature. With Linked Devices activated and a Ring Home plan in place, a visitor interacting with your building intercom will trigger your other selected Ring device to start recording.

Do I need a Ring Home Plan to receive notifications?

No. Notifications are available without a Ring Home plan.

Can I also enable direct access to my apartment for visitors or delivery drivers?

No. Ring Intercom only allows you to unlock the entrance to your apartment building, not your apartment itself.

My intercom opens multiple common entrances, will I be able to open them all through the Ring app?

It depends on the brand and model of your existing intercom system. We recommend that you use the compatibility checker to confirm whether your intercom system supports this functionality.

Does Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries mean that my packages are left in the lobby of my building?

If I have a video intercom, will I be able to see who is at the building entrance?

No, you will not be able to stream or record video if you connect Ring Intercom with your video intercom system but you will be able to speak to visitors at your building entrance and buzz them in using your smartphone.
