Customizing Neighbors app notifications and feed

Customize your Neighbors feed and notifications in either the Ring or Neighbors app to help you focus on important neighborhood updates. Only posts you share publicly or in response to "Request for Assistance" are visible to other users and public safety agencies. Ring keeps your personal information private.

Managing Neighbors notifications and feed

Customize your notifications and Neighbors feed to see relevant posts. Your feed settings determine which neighborhood events appear in your summary.

To access Neighbors push notification settings, email notification settings, and customize Neighbors feed:

1. Open the Ring app or Neighbors app.
   • For the Ring app, tap the

     Neighbors

     shortcut tile.
2. For the Ring app, tap the

   gear icon

   . For the Neighbors app, tap the

   menu (≡)

   .
3. Tap

   Neighborhood Settings

   .
   • To edit push notifications, tap

     Push Notification Settings

     . Then, tap

     Filter Alerts

     by Type. Once complete, tap

     Apply Filter

     or

     Done

     .
   • To edit Neighbors feed, tap

     Feed

     Settings

     .
   • Tap

     Advanced Settings

     to choose and refine what topics you want to see in your feed. Once complete, tap

     Apply

     or

     Done

     . The topics you select also enable or disable push notifications for each topic.
4. To edit Neighbors email notifications, tap

   Email Notification

   Settings

   . Select your desired notification settings and tap

   Save

   .

Adjusting your neighborhood area

To adjust your neighborhood area:

1. Open the Ring app or Neighbors app.
   • For the Ring app, tap the

     Neighbors

     shortcut tile.
2. For the Ring app, tap the

   gear icon

   . For the Neighbors app, tap the

   menu (≡)

   .
3. Tap

   Customize Neighborhood

   .
4. Tap

   Neighborhood Area

   .
5. Use the slider left or right to adjust neighborhood size. Use the eight radius dots to shape your neighborhood area.
6. Tap

   Save

   .

Disabling Neighbors feed and notifications

Disabling the Neighbors feature removes its feed and notifications from the Ring app. This removes the Neighbors tile from your dashboard and stops all notifications, including safety alerts and updates from public agencies. The Neighbors invitation options will also disappear from your dashboard and menu. Note: To access disable settings, you need a United States location and the latest Ring app version. To disable Neighbors feed and notifications from the Ring app:

1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

2. Tap the menu (☰).

3. Tap

   Control Center

   .
4. Tap the

   Neighbors

   section under Community Control.
5. Tap the toggle to disable Neighbors.
6. Tap

   Yes, disable now

   to disable.

To disable Neighbors feed and notifications from a web browser:

1. Sign in to your account at Ring.com

   .
2. For computers or laptops, under the

   Account

   tab on the top right, click

   Control Center

   . For mobile devices, tap the

   menu (≡)

   on the top left and tap

   Control Center

   .
3. Tap

   Neighbors

   under Community Control on the left side panel.
4. Tap the toggle to disable Neighbors.
5. Tap

   Yes, disable now

   to disable.

Once disabled, you can restore access through the Control Center or by downloading the Neighbors app.
