What’s the difference between the desktop app and Ring.com?

The Ring app for desktop is a software application that’s installed on your computer. While the desktop app requires internet to access most features, you don’t need to use a web browser (e.g. Google Chrome or Safari) to run the app.

To use the Ring features on Ring.com, you don’t need to install anything on your computer. Simply open your preferred web browser, go to Ring.com, and sign in to your account. You also don’t need to install any software updates to get brand-new features or security updates.

Will my Ring subscription be affected?

No. If you’re subscribed to a plan, your subscription benefits and video recordings will not be affected. To view videos from all your Ring video doorbells and cameras, sign in to your account from a web browser or download the Ring mobile app. You can also bulk-download up to 50 videos at a time on Ring.com.

Does this change affect the Ring mobile app?

No. This change only applies to the Ring desktop app. The mobile app will not be altered or impacted by this change.

You can get the Ring App for iOS or Android to see videos from all your devices and access the latest features. Download the Ring mobile app.
