Linking Chime to your Ring Camera or Doorbell to hear alerts

You can link your Chime or Chime Pro to your Ring cameras and doorbells at the same location. This allows you to set sound alerts on your Chime device that will play when motion is detected or the doorbell is pressed.


Linking your Chime

Follow these steps in the Ring app to link your Ring device(s) to your Chime or Chime Pro:

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.

  3. Tap your device's Settings.

  4. Tap
    Linked Chimes
    .
  5. Select
    Rings
    (for Doorbell) or
    Motion Detected
    .
  6. Tap the music note icon to hear a tone when someone rings your doorbell or motion is detected.
  7. Tap
    Save
    in the upper right corner.

Customizing Chime Tones and volume

Your Chime or Chime Pro can play different sounds for Motion and Ring events.

Follow these steps to choose your Chime tone:

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap the Chime or Chime Pro tile under Devices.

  3. Tap your device's Settings.

  4. Tap
    Audio Settings
    .
  5. Tap
    Chime Tones
    .
  6. Select either “Doorbell Rings” or “Motion Detected”.
  7. Pick a sound you want.
  8. Tap
    Save
    .

Snoozing your Chime

You can turn off Chime alerts for a specified length of time using Chime Snooze.

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap the Chime or Chime Pro tile under Devices.

  3. Tap your device's Settings.

  4. Tap
    Chime Snooze
    .
    • To turn on Chime Snooze, select the
      Snooze Duration
      . Choose from the list of preset times to temporarily silence your Chime.
    • To turn off Chime Snooze, tap
      Turn off Snooze
      .
    • Tap
      Save
      to confirm.
