What is OnTech?

OnTech is a nationwide network of trained, trusted, and insured in-home technicians. They offer professional installation for select Ring products, plus product tips and setup via face-to-face instruction. 

How do I schedule an OnTech installation appointment?

Visit ontechsmartservices.com/ringinstall to schedule your appointment. You’ll first add the appropriate installation service(s) to your shopping cart and select your preferred day and time based on current availability. Check out to confirm and book your appointment.

Which Ring products can OnTech install?

OnTech can provide professional installation for Ring Video Doorbells, Ring Stick Up Cams, Ring Chime Pro, Spotlight Cam (Wired and Battery), Ring Alarm Kits with extra security devices, such as contact and motion sensors, and the Ring Retrofit Alarm Kit.

How much does OnTech professional installation cost?

OnTech services are a fixed price based on the Ring device being installed. If additional work is required outside the scope of “What’s Included” in the service, an OnTech technician can assess the work and quote the additional cost, as applicable. If your Ring smart device requires additional non-standard add-ons, your OnTech technician will assess the work and quote the additional cost.

How does OnTech bill for their service?

OnTech will charge your preferred payment method on file when you click “Place Order” after selecting the installation service. If you request and approve additional services during your appointment, your OnTech technician will take payment at that time.

When will my technician arrive?

OnTech will contact you the day before your scheduled service appointment to confirm their time of arrival. You’ll also get a reminder one hour before the estimated arrival time of your technician. 

What is OnTech’s cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Once your order is placed, you may make service changes, service appointment changes, or cancellations by phone at 1-833-ONTECH3 or via email at customersupport@ontechsmartservices.com

For service cancellations or to reschedule your appointment, please contact OnTech at least 12 hours prior to your appointment. If you fail to cancel your appointment prior to OnTech’s arrival, or if no adult is present at the service location, you may be charged a $35 “Failed Service Appointment Fee” by OnTech to the payment information on file.

When can OnTech schedule installation appointments? 

OnTech offers in-home service appointments seven days a week, from 8:00am - 6:00pm daily, except during national holidays. OnTech also offers 24/7 support via phone at 1-833-ONTECH3 or via email at customersupport@ontechsmartservices.com.

Can I arrange additional services with my OnTech technician?

Yes, your OnTech technician can quote additional services during your appointment, which typically can be completed during the same visit, if time allows. In most cases, the tech will have additional Ring products on their vehicle if you wish to purchase additional products at that time.

How are OnTech technicians trained?

OnTech technicians are smart home experts who received extensive product and installation training. All in-home technicians must pass a thorough background check which includes driving records and a drug screen.

How do I get support from OnTech?

OnTech offers 24/7 support via phone and email. In the event OnTech is unable to solve a technical problem regarding services over the phone, you may request a technician visit. OnTech may charge a fee for this visit if the services are not covered by the service warranty. For technical support or to notify OnTech of a defect in the workmanship of services, please contact us at 1-833-ONTECH3 or customersupport@ontechsmartservices.com.
