Using Linked Devices
The Linked Devices feature allows your Ring devices to work together when an event occurs.
Link or unlink your Video Doorbells and Security Cameras
When one device detects motion or a doorbell rings, you can set your other cameras to record and lights to activate. If you have a Ring Home plan, your Ring videos from linked devices will show in your Event History as a Linked Event.
Follow these steps in the Ring app to link or unlink your devices:
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.
Tap your device's Settings.
- TapLinked Devices.
- Choose which triggers will activate other devices.
- TapMotion Detected.Select the desired devices toRecord eventorTurn on lightswhen your main device detects motion.
- For doorbells, tapRings. Select the desired devices toRecord eventorTurn on lightswhen your doorbell is pressed.
- ToUnlinkdevices, deselect the desired features.
- TapSave.
Note: Not all devices offer light activation. Available actions depend on device type.
Link or unlink Ring Alarm to other devices
When your Ring Alarm activates, you can set your cameras to record, lights to activate, and siren to sound. If you have a Ring Home plan, your Ring videos from linked devices will show in your Event History as a Linked Event. Follow these steps in the Ring app to link or unlink your Ring Alarm:
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
Tap the Alarm tile under Devices.
Tap your device's Settings.
- TapLinked Devices.
- Choose the action that triggers other devices.
- TapAlarm SoundingorEntry Delay.
- Select the desired devices toRecord event,Turn on lights, orSound Sirenwhen your Base Station is activated.
- ToUnlinkdevices, deselect the desired features.
- TapSave.
Note: Not all devices offer light and siren activation. Available actions depend on device type.
